Studebaker Champ - 10 sec. Drag/Race Car , ZZ4
This car was built in to a race car in 1978 or 1979
It was originally set up as a bracket car. Its
a great car for Nostalgia Drags.
ZZ4 crate engine, 10.5:1 compression, with approximately 5 hours run time. This engine was
purchased about 3 years ago brand new in the crate. It was ran in the garage for tuning and set up. It has only 1 pass at
11.20 as a test/tune break-in run. This car should run 10.9's all day. Reliable, safe and fun!
Turbo 400 built by Mike's Powerglides
B&M torque converter 4500 stall
Barry Grant carburetor , adjustable, currentyl set at 850cfm
The front end is custom built, after a mustang 2/
Aldon coil shock set up, it has 2 stock frame rails with a shock and spring set up and traction bars
for rear suspension.
Narrowed, Ford 9" rear end 4.56 gears, spooled
9" brake drums
Mallory HEI Ignition
3 core Vega radiator , runs 165-175 degrees
Electric fan on a switch
release steering wheel
Front and rear is glass, sides are lexan.
1.75" Cromoly race cage, Nostalgia compliant. It would need some simple
additional bracing for NHRA.
Fires right up and runs great. Needs a good home with someone that has the time to use it.
Not street legal!
But, could be made in to a street car with some mods, like headlights, etc...
Car weighs approx 2900 lbs
If you're gonna race it, it will need new tires.
Priced accordingly, this is a fair price.
It would cost three times as much to build this car, not including the labor.
Clean and clear title.
